A
nightingale sang in Union Chapel, a voice that just grabbed you right
there and never let go. Lloica Czackis
is gifted with an
exceptional and extraordinary voice, immensely powerful yet effortless and
unforced, and moreover a voice that is both dramatic as well as lyrical as
the material demands it, truly a rare phenomenon. An almost palpable air
of awe seemed to pervade the audience. Positively radiating stage
presence, charm and charisma, Ms. Czackis emanates the kind of confidence
that comes out of not so much believing in one's ability as possessing it,
lots of it. With a perfectly balanced blend of passion and sensitivity,
guts and tenderness, she gave an unforgettable performance that
was possessed of a maturity well beyond her young years.
Richard Sharma, Rainlore's World of Music (UK).
Crowds turned away
at the door… Czackis projected her vibrant voice in a selection of
poignant songs.

Lloica Czackis has
the voice of an angel.

Beytelmann's upbeat
arrangements are jazzy and virtuoso.
Music & Vision, London.
With the sensitive
contribution of Aisemberg and Beytelmann, the audience was moved by Lloica's performance.
Graciela Iglesias, La Nación, Argentina.
The star of the
evening was undoubtedly Lloica herself. Tall, statuesque and appearing in
a shimmering dress, she seemed to be a reincarnation of a 1940s diva.

A brief thank
you for a glorious evening
- Jane
Liddell-King, playwright & poet.
A yasher
koyekh, well done for your concert. The material was well balanced and
your interpretations were interesting and varied. You, and the arranger
Gustavo, managed to give a fresh and innovative sound to those songs. Your
Yiddish was clear and the songs could be understood well. Even, I hope, I
can say I shepped a little nakhes.
- Barry Davis,
Yiddish historian.
What I most enjoyed
about your program, and your presentation, was (all of) your bravery in
refusing to compromise your choice of material, and the quality of the
Yiddish employed. For those of us who do understand (and know some of the
songs), there was the most profound enjoyment and appreciation possible.
Your voice is a wonderfully tuned musical instrument, and you use it to
great dramatic effect. Congratulations. The arrangements of the music
were of the highest musical order, and deserve a pane of praise in their
own right, as of course, do the performances.
I was at the
performance and since then have been haunted by - and longing to hear
again - those moving and wonderful tango songs.
Why have I been so
enthralled by your songs? Perhaps because they reminded me of the songs
we used to sing & dance to during my youth in Czechoslovakia, which I left
on the last Kindertransport from Prague in 1939. The rest of my family
were destined for Terezin & Auschwitz. I am deeply grateful to you for
bringing back to me some bitter-sweet memories with your lovely voice and
charm of presentation.
